Carol L. Brown

Join Linda as she speaks with Dr. Carol L. Brown who is associate attending surgeon, Gynecology Service, Memorial Hospital, and associate member Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York. She chairs the Communications Committee, Gynecologic Cancer Foundation. Dr. Brown's research focuses on screening and prevention of cervical and ovarian cancers, and the reduction and elimination of cancer health disparities experienced by medically underserved populations. Since 2005 she has served as the Director of the Office of Diversity Programs in Clinical Care, Research, and Training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Brown received her medical degree from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. KRISTIN HUFFMAN recently appeared in the Tony award winning and Grammy and Emmy nominated revival of Stephen Sondheim's Company, in which she played a leading role as well as flute, sax and piccolo. The production was filmed and aired on PBS's Great Performances and is available on DVD. Kristin has performed with professional operas, theatres and symphonies around the US and in Europe. Her varied background includes Miss Ohio and Runner-up Miss America (where her platform issue was supporting community volunteer activities) a reporter/broadcaster for NBC and many appearances and performances for charity organizations.
