Coach Michael Merlino
Fitness trainer and running Coach Michael Merlino can speak from experience when it comes to the challenges of getting in shape and staying in shape. After leaving a ten year career in corporate human resources with a world renowned medical college and a Fortune 500 energy company, he traded his suit and tie for warmups and running shoes. He has taught thousands of fitness clients and runners how to turn their lives around with realistic and efficient fitness and nutrition strategies that get results.
Michael owns Merlino Fitness and has been a fitness trainer and running coach since 1997. He trains clients and runners at his private studio, in outdoor parks and along the running trails of Houston, Texas. He is also the founder and head coach of In Flight Running, a Houston area run coaching program that trains walkers and runners for races from the 5K to marathon distance.
He spends his time coaching and training others on weight management, getting in shape, strength training, improving athletic performance and maintaining fitness. Michael is also a fitness and wellness consultant, speaker, blogger and writer.
