Men and women have very traditional roles in our society. However, some people are not comfortable with the gender that they are born into. There is a segment of our population that struggles with a desire to live as the opposite sex. Many of them choose to live secret lives and do so with great difficulty. Others seek counseling to learn to be more comfortable with their feelings. Many ultimately embrace their choice and undergo surgical transformation of their face and body. Join us this week as we learn more about this fascinating topic. We will hear from Lisette Lahana who counsels transgender patients as a therapist. Also joining us will be Dr. Marci Bowers and Dr. Joel Beck, surgeons that specialize in transgender procedures. Dr. Adam Rubinstein
Dr. Adam Rubinstein is a highly respected and recognized board certified plastic surgeon providing top notch care to patients from South Florida, across the United States, and many countries throughout the world.
Dr. Rubinstein is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has trained with the world's eminent surgeons at the forefront of developing techniques for plastic surgery. He has served as Chief of Plastic Surgery for Jackson North Medical Center. Dr. Rubinstein is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at NOVA Southeastern University, and clinical faculty for the Cleveland Clinic Plastic Surgery Residency Program in Florida.
He has been newly appointed to the teaching faculty of the Florida International University (FIU) College of Medicine Department of Surgery. He is the exclusive plastic surgeon for the Pritikin Longevity Center. Dr. Rubinstein currently serves on the editorial board of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal published by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He holds memberships in many prestigious medical societies and associations, which include The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, The American Society of Bariatric Plastic Surgeons. He is the current vice president of The Ralph Millard Jr., M.D. Medical Society & Education Foundation.
