The statistics on eating disorders are staggering, with an estimated 10 million females and 1 million males suffering from Anorexia or Bulimia, while millions more suffer from Binge Eating Disorder. The alarming news is that the last two decades have witnessed an unprecedented growth in eating disorders. In this episode, we continue our discussion of this epidemic with national expert, Sondra Kronberg. In addition, at this time of year, we are ALL thinking more about food. It is post-Halloween and the countdown begins for the holidays, which for some can mean a nutritional nightmare. Holiday treats fill the store shelves and we are expected to buy it, share it, and of course, eat it. Tune in to this episode with Registered Dietician Pamela Kelle to hear how to try something different this year. She discusses learning to use all of the senses with mindfulness eating to help avoid that yearly trap of added weight and added guilt. Tune in! It’s all in...the mind of the matter.
The Mind of the Matter
Thursday at 6 AM Pacific Time on VoiceAmerica Variety Channel
"The Mind of the Matter" is everyone's show because we are all interested in human behavior, thoughts and emotions--why we do the things we do and whether our actions are harmful, helpful or simply mysterious. People are fascinated by the inner workings of the mind and body: the way we create, the reasons we destroy, the motivations that lead to our greatest accomplishments, our ability to endure or commit atrocities and our unique qualities that differentiate us from other people. Not only is the show about the questions of “how” and “why,” but also about the question of “what now?” What must we do now to get the results we desire? How do we effectively change our emotions, thoughts and behaviors to achieve our goals and stay emotionally connected? Whether in sports, religion, business, science, art, literature or world events, come explore with us as we seek to understand the mind of the matter. Tune in Thursdays at 6 AM Pacific /9 AM Eastern on the VoiceAmerica Variety Channel.
