PARENTAL DISCRETION IS ADVISED Gender Issues As part of our Tough Talks series, our hosts, Chan Dara Paschal and Steven Zhou interview experts on gender issues including health educator from the University of California at Berkeley, Sarah Gamble and Orange County/Long Beach Regional Director of the Anti-Defamation League and GLSEN, Kevin O’Grady. Topics discussed include gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual topics as well as discrimination and ways to eliminate it. The Live Your Legacy campaign continues with a reading of Playing for Change, a story about bringing peace to the world through music as a universal language. Teen reporter, Rachel Glass, comes to us from Oregon with simple small tips to helping you make a difference in the lives of those around you. Tech personality, Eric Pawlakos, discovers a running app in App Rap to help us get outside and get moving

Express Yourself! is an entertaining adolescent fusion program where passion, productivity, and possibility populate the airwaves. Hosted by Steven Zhou with eight teenage field reporters, Express Yourself! is THE destination for teens to be heard and have their creativity promoted. Within the walls of the young adult community, you will be uplifted, encouraged, and supported to be the stars of your own life. Through connections, collaborations, conversations, and conflicts, a global campus of young people unite to express their viewpoints. Topics include books, music, making a difference, technology, school, art, humor, writing, volunteering, tough talks, films, family, friends, foes, fashion, and fun. Steven Zhou, with the Express Yourself! STAR On-Air Team
Steven Zhou, co-host and show administrator, is a senior in high school in the San Francisco area, webmaster for Express Yourself!, and a musician. He wrote the theme song and will use this experience for real world projects.
Express Yourself STAR On-Air Team are all volunteers with Be the Star You Are! charity.
Courtney Cheng, Reporter of Book it! A high school senior, creative writing director for Express Yourself!™, and contributor to Be the Star You Are! for TEENS book, she enjoys reading novels, writing short stories, playing violin, and listening to music.
Rachel Glass, Reporter of Making a Difference, is a freshman at the University of Oregon studying broadcasting and contributor to the book, Be the Star You Are! for TEENS.
Vivien Lee, Reporter of Say What? is the event coordinator for Be the Star You Are!, loves to sing arias, write poetry, shadow physicians, and collect quirky knowledge!
Eric Pawlakos, Reporter of The App Rap, is a 17 year-old senior who writes for The Lamorinda Weekly, plays on the Lamorinda Rugby team, and is learning guitar.
Jacqueline Tao, Reporter of Campus Calling, is studying the natural sciences as a freshman at Stanford University. She contributed to the book, Be the Star You Are! for TEENS and loves sharing her college reflections.
