In this episode of Autism Spectrum Radio Dr. Bill Frea takes a step back and looks at autism from a parental perspective. Dr. Frea will also focus on the resources available to parents of children with autism. In particular we will highlight the work of Autism Speaks and the excellent service they provide for the autism community. Parents are truly the unsung heroes of autism. We look forward to talking about some of the best strategies, and resources parents can employ in the care of their children. Dr. Frea is happy to welcome a very special guest, Matt Asner. We will discuss Matt’s role as Executive Director for Autism Speaks Southern California, and how being the parent of child with autism has affected his life. Rob Haupt
Rob Haupt is a passionate professional in the field of autism. His knowledge of autism services, treatment options and insurance coverage has made him a popular guest speaker to advocate groups. He also shares tips for parents through his weekly video blog.
Rob is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 12 years of experience treating individuals with Development Disabilities. He currently serves as Vice President of Business Development at Autism Spectrum Therapies (AST), an agency that provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy and Speech to individuals with Autism. In his role with AST, Rob has collaborated with parents, teachers, and schools to support better understanding of autism health insurance mandates and how to effectively use insurance coverage.
