This week on Autism Spectrum Radio we investigate the topic of food sensitivity, or feeding issues, in individuals with autism. One of the most basic functions of a parent is to care for and nourish their child. For some children with autism, the simple act of eating a meal can be difficult. Learning how to address these sensitivities effectively is important as developing a positive relationship with food is critical for effective developmental progress. This week Rob discusses some strategies to achieve that positive relationship. We are excited to welcome Dr. Michele D. Wallace to the show this week to help to share her insights. Rob Haupt is a passionate professional in the field of autism. His knowledge of autism services, treatment options and insurance coverage has made him a popular guest speaker to advocate groups. He also shares tips for parents through his weekly video blog.
Rob is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 12 years of experience treating individuals with Development Disabilities. He currently serves as Vice President of Business Development at Autism Spectrum Therapies (AST), an agency that provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy and Speech to individuals with Autism. In his role with AST, Rob has collaborated with parents, teachers, and schools to support better understanding of autism health insurance mandates and how to effectively use insurance coverage.
