Episode Description

Children entering their teenage or adolescent years present new challenges for their parents. Most of these challenges stem from parents' preconceived ideas that their children will become difficult, moody and oppositional just because that is the stereotypical view of teenagers' behavior. Despite some adults' negative perceptions about teens, they are often energetic, thoughtful, and idealistic, with a deep interest in what's fair and right. So, although it can be a period of conflict between parent and child, the teen years are also a time to help kids grow into the distinct individuals they will become. Today’s Show is a Guide to Parents with Teens. Four Parents, Dr. Loblack, Carl Rhowe; Paulette Randolph and Rhonda Soudart all have raised teenagers and will share the good and the bad including: Talking about drugs; connecting with your teen; alcohol; smoking; understanding puberty; bullying; teen pregnancy and more.
