Episode Description

Museums are dynamic and constantly changing to remain vital and relevant to their community – responding to a rapidly changing world in a myriad of fascinating ways. What trends are we seeing in museums around the world? How are museums changing yet remaining centers for lifelong learning, creativity, and enjoyment? The week’s program of The Museum Life examines these questions with Myriam Springuel, international museum consultant who develops professional training programs for museums, and specializes in governance and interpretive planning – the core work of board and staff as they shape a museum’s place in its community and the quality of the visitors’ experience. She has just returned from Rio and the International Council of Museums conference. She will discuss trends in the museum field that emerged among some of the most inventive museum thinkers from around the world.
