Often, using surgery to treat eye problems (glaucoma, detached retina, macular degeneration, myopia, etc.) can lead to worse problems down the road or a recurring problem that has not been solved. After a detached retina led him to surgical intervention, John Monroe found the late Dr. Debra Banker, a pioneering multi-disciplined MD who believed in a natural, multi-faceted approach to eye health and healing. He trained and worked with Dr. Banker for 15 years, and after her passing, continues her work. He relates what can go wrong with the eye, how Americans have some of the highest incidence of eye disease, and what can be done about it naturally.

Howard Straus
Mr. Howard Straus, son of Charlotte Gerson and grandson of Dr. Max Gerson, graduated from MIT with a degree in physics. He was a US naval officer during the Viet Nam war and worked for many years as a computer systems analyst. Howard was Editor-in-Chief of the Gerson Healing Newsletter for ten years and authored an award-winning biography of Dr. Gerson called Dr. Max Gerson: Healing the Hopeless, published in 2002.
Howard was the founding Director of the Gerson Healing Center in Sedona, Arizona, that provided the Gerson Therapy directly to visitors from all over the world. Howard also served on the Board of the Gerson Institute for fifteen years and initiated their Worldwide Web presence during the earliest days of the Internet.
Mr. Straus founded Gerson Health Media that publishes the guidebooks for implementing Gerson Therapy and manages the rapidly expanding library of books and booklets being released around the world. Howard appears on radio, television and Internet interviews, and regularly speaks throughout the world.
