Episode Description

The buzz: On the Road Again. Looking to fast-track to the proverbial corner office in a global organization? Three requirements. Be a recognized top talent. Keep your bags packed for off-site travel on a moment’s notice. Smile when relocated to foreign destinations. Sounds like an exciting career, right? Not so much, say the 60% of mobile high-achievers who resign within a year of returning home from a foreign assignment. Could HR systems and processes be at fault? The experts speak. Michael Romero, Deloitte: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” (A. Einstein)

Stacey Harris, Sierra-Cedar: “The worst thing an organization can do is to try to ‘keep’ talent.”

Dr. Steven Hunt, SuccessFactors: “Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” (Mark Twain)
