Episode Description

The buzz: Ring ring. Telcos provide the backbone of our always-connected digital lives. As customers, we expect a dazzling array of services that were considered virtual magic, or elite perks, just 25 years ago. But deregulation and the web have eroded their traditional revenue streams. With declining voice revenues and cloud-based data taking over, how can Telcos make us happy, stay profitable, and keep the digital foundation of our economy at 5-nines reliability (hint: landline)? The experts speak. E.Y. Snowden, RBM Technologies: “Dum Spiro Spero.” (Snowden family motto) Johan Bergh, DigitalRoute: “Data is exploding, driven on by innovative technologies. Those who can process the new data mountains and also control the actual energy consumption and costs to produce the data will be at an advantage.” Rick Costanzo, SAP: “Aut Viam Inveniam Aut Faciam. Latin for ‘I shall either find a way or make one.’” (Hannibal) Join us for Dialing it In: Telcos Look to Big Data and New Services
