Episode Description

Many industries have integrated the crowdsourcing model into their businesses, but few envisioned the possibility of community-created vehicles. Not only is car design complex, but manufacturing is another matter. Few new companies have succeeded in making automobiles in the U.S. Local Motors wants to change the way cars are designed, built, purchased and owned. More than five years after it was created, the company launched the first car in the world co-designed by a virtual community of engineers and designers. In this episode, I'll interview the president and CEO, John Rogers, about his vision to transform the auto industry. We'll discuss interesting projects in the pipeline, as well as his views on the keys to marketing innovation and the future of the auto industry.
