This week, InsideOut is taking on the corruption of social media. We’ll share examples related to Freddie Gray and the Baltimore police protests, as reported by the Washington Post. But we could be looking at any of the other fabrications frequently going viral the internet. Why is this important? Because social media is our responsibility. It’s democracy’s answer to the monopolization of news, but when it’s abused, it subverts our efforts to create a better world. This week on InsideOut we’ll talk about how the misuse of social media corrupts the Inner Revolution and we’ll examine the part we play. Are we feeding negativity, gossip or feel-good fluff? Do we reserve judgment until we get facts? Do we spread unexamined statements serving only to feed our cherished opinions? Tune in, call in and talk about your relationship to social media. Let’s acknowledge the power of the tweet and start holding ourselves accountable for not debasing this great tool that has come into our hands.

Helen Hillix, Todd Benton and Chris Reese met many years ago, when our journeys for inner healing brought us to the InnerRevolution.Org. Under the guidance of Beth Green, the organization’s founder, we evolved into spiritual activists who support the three principles of The Inner Revolution: Oneness, Accountability and Mutual support – in all areas of life. Ultimately, there is no personal healing; no one person can be well in a world where others are suffering. It takes a collective shift in awareness for sustainable change and for everyone to thrive. InnerRevolutionary radio was Beth Green’s baby, and now it’s our turn to nurture this platform and share the vision: gathering others and sharing work that is being done around the world under many different banners to bring more consciousness into personal, political, spiritual and business arenas.
