"The Marriage of Heaven and Earth" is a presentation by shamanic astrologer Brett Joseph about the starry stories on which many world traditions are based. We will investigate the cosmological, astronomical, and astrological mysteries hidden within those tales along with the ancient practice of aligning temples to the stars using examples from Newgrange, Giza, Chitzen Itza, Chaco Canyon, Serpent Mound, Washington DC, and other sites. Hear about the 26,000 year Precession of the Equinoxes as it relates to the cyclical evolution of human consciousness; the Turning of the Ages and Galactic Alignment as predicted by the Mayan Calendar and other ancient sources; and the difference between Constellational (Star) and Tropical (Earth) astrology. Learn about the importance of reuniting astronomy (The Above) with astrology (The Below) by looking up as well as within so that we may consciously serve as conduits for the Marriage of Heaven and Earth. Janey McCarthy, MEd, left her technology career behind to become a Jungian Karmic Astrologer after discovering what Carl Jung had confirmed: The natal chart is a sacred, geometrically perfected personal database. Professional recognition as an astrologer and writer came when the website Planetwaves.net chose her article ‘The Silence Between the Words’, from 500 submissions, for the 2014 Annual Edition of Listen. She offers workshops and presentations, and counsels her astrology mentors, peers and clients from the east coast.
Mary Jo Wevers, PhD “re-discovered” astrology late in life, and found it came to her intuitively and easily. An enthusiastic and inspired astrologer for 15 years, she counsels clients, teaches classes and gives workshops and seminars on special topics in astrology. She writes a newsletter and has a blog on her web site, MaryJoWevers.com. She is a featured speaker at local metaphysical schools and churches and has been a conversation leader in the Northwest Astrology and Tarot Salon.
As co-hosts we live on different sides of the country, have different backgrounds, life experiences and life styles. We each bring unique intellectual perspectives to the show.
