Episode Description
Is the current education system properly preparing our children to the next generation of scholars? One survey after another indicates that overall students in the United States continue to rank lower in areas such as mathematics, science, and reading when compared with our international counter-parts. This pattern of academic underperformance would raises the question of what type of transformation leadership in education will be needed to significantly improve academic performance in schools and whether the current educational system in the United States will be able to properly prepare the children of this country to be the next generation of scholars. Please join host Gerald McFadden, President & CEO of Volunteers of America Southwest, Dr. Ann McKenzie, Superintendent of Schools, Hadley MA and Ms. Doreen Mulz, School Superintendent of Ballington Academy for the Arts and Sciences as they discuss Educating the Next Generation of Young Scholars.
