Episode Description

The changed nature of publishing has increased access to becoming a published author. Fiction writers might be bursting with youth or seasoned by age. Experts share their knowledge in non-fiction books. According to Independent editor and publishing expert Janet Spencer King, “Many writers are now choosing to self-publish. But to become a high-quality author with a fine book is more than signing up for one of the many Internet services. Writers need an experienced independent editor who will help them craft professional writing, and teach them what it takes to be an author. Self-publishing requires the collaboration of many, including copy editors, designers and sophisticated printers. An independent self-publishing director is the go-to person to coordinate this multi-layered effort.” In this episode, Janet will share guidance on writing compelling non-fiction and fiction, choosing between traditional and self-publishing, and how to make your book a worthy investment!
