Bernie Siegel

Bernie Siegel

The author of twelve books, Dr. Bernie Siegel has been an inspiration for patients, readers and colleagues for decades. In 1978 he reached a national and international audience when he spoke of patient empowerment, the choice to live fully and die in peace. In the same year, Bernie and his wife Bobbie founded Exceptional Cancer Patients (ECaP), an organization that is still thriving. In his first book, Love, Medicine and Miracles, he expressed his frustration with mainstream medicine, and shared his own philosophy, which included hugging his patients, listening to them closely, having them not only talk, but write and draw what it is they are feeling. His latest book is A Book of Miracles—Inspiring True Stories of Healing, Gratitude and Love in which he reaffirms his original beliefs as well as his deepened trust in the reality of miracles.
