Contemporary art consultant Merry Norris will discuss the behind-the-scene accounts of how contemporary art is chosen for public commissions As the President and Vice President of the Cultural Affairs Commission for the City of Los Angeles, she was instrumental in create the “percentage for art” program requiring new construction to donate a portion to generating public art. She will discuss how private collections are created and will speak about current affairs and projects in the contemporary art and architecture sphere.
