Greg Mills

Dr. Greg Mills directs the Johannesburg-based Brenthurst Foundation (South Africa). He holds a BA Hons from the University of Cape Town, and MA and PhD from the University of Lancaster. From 1996-2005 he was National Director of the South African Institute of International Affairs. He founded and headed up the Prism strategic analysis group for General David Richards in Kabul in 2006, was seconded as Strategy Adviser to the President of Rwanda in 2008, served as a member of the Danish Africa Commission from 2008, and during 2010 deployed twice to regional command (South) in Afghanistan in an advisory capacity, based in Kandahar. He is the author/editor of numerous books; in 2012 "On the Fault-Line" (Profile, with J. Herbst & T. McNamee)and "Africa’s Third Liberation: The New Search for Prosperity and Jobs" (Penguin, with J. Herbst). He is on the visiting faculty of the NATO Higher Defense College in Rome, and the Royal College of Defense Studies in the United Kingdom.
