Laurel Colless

Laurel Colless, an international entrepreneur, has spent much of her career in the US, Europe and Japan. Fluent in Japanese, she began her career in business communications before joining the equity research team of a global investment bank. Laurel then moved to Finland where, as Director of Financial Communications for Nokia Corporation, she partnered with the International Youth Foundation and UN Development Programme to implement Nokia’s youth life-skills program in 25 countries. From 2006 to 2011, Laurel was a faculty member of the Research Development Team at Virginia Tech. In 2007, she founded the Energy Efficiency Partnership of Washington, DC, led by Virginia Tech, which addresses climate change and energy efficiency in buildings. In 2011, Laurel founded Green Dachshund Productions to produce trans-media content aimed at educating, entertaining and moving children and their caregivers to restore a balanced relationship with Earth. www.thecarbonbusters.com
