Kathy Floyd

Kathy Floyd, Deputy Director for Investor Education for the US Securities and Exchange Commission is responsible for educating the US retail investors about the benefits of saving and investing. This is accomplished through outreach, content development and research. Outreach successes include developing the SEC Graduate Program for teachers and the relaunch of Investor.gov, a website for the individual investor. The main themes include understanding risk, understanding fees and avoiding fraud. Ms. Floyd comes to the SEC from the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Foundation, where she was the Executive Director of the Stock Market Game. The Stock Market Game taught savings and investing to almost a million students annually. She previously served as Director of Baltimore Academies for Baltimore City Public Schools. She is a graduate of Drew and George Washington Universities.
