Scott Blanchette

Scott Blanchette is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Vanguard Health Systems (NYSE: VHS), a Fortune-500 company.  He is also Founder and President of Hangar9 Solutions, a professional services firm that provides IT services to small and mid-sized hospitals and health care systems across the country.  As CIO, he is responsible for the technology strategy, execution, and business operations of departments across Vanguard’s $7B portfolio of assets, including hospitals and hospital systems, ambulatory clinics, health plans, lab companies, and more than fifty related health and health care business ventures.  He also has substantial responsibilities leading design and development efforts for multiple Accountable Care Organizations across the company.  As Founder and President of Hangar9 he is responsible for transitioning Vanguard’s information technology capabilities into an independent, externally-focused profit center, generating growth, contribution margin, and service excellence to a broad, diverse, and expanding customer base.      Prior to joining Vanguard, Scott was Senior Vice President of Product Development and Chief Information Officer at Healthways, Inc (NASDAQ: HWAY), the world’s leading provider of health and wellness programs.  In his last capacity, he was responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and operation of Healthways 225 uniquely differentiated products inside their portfolio.  He managed design and development operations across the globe, including the oversight of more than 700 designers and developers in seven states and four countries.  He started at Healthways in 2006 as the Chief Technology Officer, and became CIO in 2007.  While CIO, he garnered multiple awards for innovation, including being recognized by Information Week as the 8th (2011) and 35th (2010) most innovative technology leader in the US.  In addition, CIO Magazine (2011) recognized him with the CIO-100 “Plus One” award for leading the organization delivering the greatest social impact.
