Jane C.K. Fitch, M.D.

Jane C.K. Fitch, M.D. currently serves as First Vice President of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). Dr. Fitch is also Professor and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. Dr. Fitch has served the Society in numerous positions. She served as Chair of the Board Committee on Professional Affairs Review and also served as Chair of the Governmental Affairs and the Anesthesia Care Team Committees. In addition, Dr. Fitch served on the Committee on Economics, as well as the Director from Oklahoma. She is a Past President of the Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists. An Alpha Omega Alpha medical graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Dr. Fitch completed internship training at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston, followed by a residency and fellowship in cardiovascular and thoracic anesthesiology at the University of Washington in Seattle. Previous academic appointments have been with Yale University School of Medicine and Baylor College of Medicine. Prior to her medical career, Dr. Fitch worked as an ICU nurse, followed by nurse anesthesia.
