Jessica Holmes

Jessica Holmes is the Director of MiddCORE as well as Associate Professor of Economics at Middlebury College. Under Jessica’s leadership, MiddCORE has expanded to several affiliated schools throughout the U.S. and also includes an internship and workshop program. Jessica teaches courses in microeconomics, health economics, the economics of social issues and the economics of sin. Prior to joining the Middlebury faculty in 2001, she worked as a litigation consultant, conducting economic analyses for companies facing lawsuits involving securities fraud, product liability, and intellectual property. Jessica’s prior consulting experience shapes her emphasis on experiential learning in the classroom. Jessica is also an avid researcher, currently working on a multi-year project involving the economics of philanthropy. She earned a PhD in Economics at Yale University in 1998. Jessica lives in Vermont with her husband and three children where she is a competitive swimmer.
