Laura Brown, PhD.

Laura Brown, PhD. graduated with honors from Case Western Reserve University, and received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Dr. Brown completed a predoctoral internship in Clinical Psychology at the Seattle Veteran’s Administration Medical Center and is currently a consulting editor for multiple journals including Psychotherapy: Theory, Research, Practice, Training; Trauma Psychology; Ethics and Behavior; Journal of Trauma and Dissociation; Psychology; Public Policy and the Law; and Journal of Clinical Psychology. Dr. Brown is the author of multiple books including Your Turn for Care: Surviving the Aging and Death of the Adults Who Harmed You. She is the founder and Director of the Fremont Community Therapy Project, a low-fee psychotherapy training clinic in Seattle and frequently serves as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
