Tom Kellogg

Tom Kellogg received his BA in English from California State University, Fresno, and has taught English, including AP English Language, Expository Reading and Writing, Literature and Composition, for more than 18 years to 6th through 12th grade students as well as second Language learners. After serving in the US Navy, Tom returned to college and obtained his teaching credential. Tom taught in Los Angeles Unified and Fresno Unified School Districts before returning to Tulare Union, his alma mater, where he graduated in 1978. Tom was recognized nationally for his creativity and success in the classroom in 2006 when he was nominated for the Disney Teacher of the Year Award. In addition to his work as a classroom teacher at Tulare Union, he has been a WASC committee team leader, class and club advisor, as well as a member of the school site council, technology committee and intervention team. Tom has also served as a Master Teacher for USC, CSU Fresno, Chapman and National Universities, Fresno Pacific University and BARD College. As a mentor teacher, Tom has been instrumental training teachers to design and align curriculum to state standards as well as guiding their careers toward student support services by being a true advocate for students. In addition to his rich professional life, Tom enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time his family.
