Jonathan Macey

Jonathan Macey is Sam Harris Professor of Corporate Law, Corporate Finance, and Securities Law at Yale University and Professor in the Yale School of Management. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Yale Law School Center for the Study of Corporate Governance, a member of the Faculty Advisory, has served as an independent director of two public companies and is a member of FINRA’s Economic Advisory Council and the Bipartisan Policy Center Task Force on Capital Markets. In 1995, Professor Macey was awarded the Paul M. Bator prize for excellence in Teaching, Scholarship and Public Service by the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy. Professor Macey earned his B.A., cum laude, from Harvard and his J.D. from Yale Law School. He received a Ph.D. honoris causa from the Stockholm School of Economics. He is the author of Corporate Governance: Promises Kept, Promises Broken, Macey on Corporation Law, and more recently The Death of Corporate Reputation.
