Jeffery Michael Straker
Singer-songwriter-pianist Jeffery Michael Straker performs over 100 shows of his piano-folk-pop music each year across Canada and works with disadvantaged children in "The Heart of The City" piano program His piano based pop musical style has drawn comparisons to Elton John, Neil Young and Rufus Wainwright. He has recorded for CBC radio’s Canada Live, had a music video in the top 10 on Much More Music, and in 2012 performed on tour in Africa. His tour stops range from intimate house concerts to theatre shows and include a recent sold-out concert with the full Regina Symphony Orchestra. He will be representing Canada in the 2014 Vina del Mar Festival in Vina, Chile in February. Originally from a small town in Saskatchewan, the classically trained pianist was raised by a church organist mother and auctioneer father.
