Dr. Mark Battersby
Dr. Mark Battersby has over 40 years of experience teaching critical thinking, including at Capilano University, the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, and Stanford University, and has been invited to do workshops on critical thinking across North America. He is the founder of the British Columbia Association for Critical Thinking Research and Instruction, and also led a provincial curriculum initiative focusing on learning outcomes in higher education. Mark has written and presented extensively on the subject of critical thinking and informal logic, and is the author of Is That a Fact? A Field Guide to Statistical and Scientific Information (Broadview, 2009), and, along with Sharon Bailin, Reason in the Balance: An Inquiry Approach to Critical Thinking (McGraw-Hill Ryerson, 2010), as well as numerous articles on critical thinking.
