Dr. Sharon Bailin
Dr. Sharon Bailin is Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Education, Simon Fraser University. She is the author of the award-winning book, Achieving Extraordinary Ends: An Essay on Creativity (Ablex, 1994) and, along with Mark Battersby, Reason in the Balance: An Inquiry Approach to Critical Thinking. She is also the author of a significant number of articles on critical thinking and creativity, and has presented on these topics internationally. Sharon currently directs a Masters Program for educators focused on critical thinking and is a part of a major initiative to develop critical thinking for educational institutions and contexts in Canada and internationally (TC2). She is a Past President of the Philosophy of Education Society and of the Association for Informal Logic and Critical Thinking. Through their work with The Critical Inquiry Group, Mark and Sharon provide consulting and coaching in the area of critical thinking and decision making for organizations and businesses.
