Chuck Caputo
Chuck Caputo is currently the Chief Program Officer at the Long Island GLBT Services Network overseeing all programs provided by the organization. The Long Island GLBT Services Network is an association of non-profits working to serve Long Island New York’s GLBT community throughout the lifespan: Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth (LIGALY), The Long Island GLBT Community Center (The Center), and Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders – Long Island (SAGE-LI). Prior to his current position, Chuck was a Vice President at The New York Foundling Hospital and was the Executive Director of their Vincent J. Fontana Center for Child Protection. He ran several departments at NYF including training, youth development, educational services, a summer camp for children and youth in foster care and was also responsible for a NYS Office of Mental Health Regional Suicide Prevention Training Center located at the Fontana Center. Chuck also managed the agency’s efforts at maintaining and pursuing reaccreditation with the Council on Accreditation. Chuck also spent several years in senior management positions and facilitating CQI and Quality Assurance efforts in large multi-service organizations and in public agency settings. For many years, he was the Director of the Council on Accreditation’s Training Institute. He has provided training and technical assistance on an international basis to private and public child welfare and social service agencies in the areas of accreditation readiness, CQI, program service delivery and leadership/Board operations. He also helped the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy implement accreditation and CQI processes and has conducted many site-visits as a team leader and peer reviewer for the Council on Accreditation. Chuck has a master’s degree in public administration and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality and lives in Garden City, Long Island.
