Ernest Kurtz, Ph.D.

Ernest Kurtz received his Ph.D. in the History of American Civilization from Harvard University in 1978. Over the course of his academic career, he has taught American History and the History of Religion in America at the University of Georgia and Loyola University of Chicago, and served on the faculty of the Rutgers University Summer School of Alcohol Studies and as a lecturer at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. Author of Not God, the authoritative history of Alcoholics Anonymous, Ernie has lectured on the history of spirituality in England, Denmark, Israel, Poland, Russia, and throughout the United States.
