He has shaped ecosystems and products around POS, mobile payment, mobile security, mobile identity and consumer solutions even when he was told it was not possible. As such, he has provided expert opinions for and has been quoted in the WSJ, Washington Post, The Huffington Post, Reuters, Mashable, USA Today, CNN, CBC, Forbes, Dark Reading, Digital Transactions, Newsweek, etc. on topics ranging from mobile payments to mobile identity, and consumer biometrics and security. Sebastien was Chief Technology Officer at Validity and assumes a similar role at Synaptics as Chief Evangelist with a particular focus on ecosystem strategy and development positioning Synaptics at the forefront of the pack with its best-in-class Human Interface technology. Prior to Validity, Sebastien led the Mobile Ecosystem and Technology Integration effort at PayPal. He was also a member of the exclusive eBay Inventors Club for his multiple contributions to the patent portfolio (15 patents pending/filed) as well as a 2-times recipient of the PayPalian Award. He also founded and led Fluctuat LLC for more than 5 years and has held senior management positions for starts-up and Fortune companies such as Cardsoft, Renesas (Hitachi/Mitsubishi), Ridgerun (a Texas Instruments venture), Motorola SPS (now Freescale) and others.
