Lori Ames

Lori Ames is founder of ThePRFreelancer, Inc., an agency that specializes in national and international publicity and public relations for authors and small businesses. She received her degree from Hofstra and has worked in the book publishing and public relations industries ever since. Lori began her publicity career at a boutique agency in Manhattan, joined book publisher William Morrow, and staying there until her son became ill. She then started her own public relations agency on Long Island, has a full roster of clients, and still loves every minute of her unexpected entrepreneurial journey. In addition to serving on the Dean's Advisory Board for HCLAS, her agency does pro bono work for the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation and the Michael Magro Foundation. She has written for Speaker, the magazine of the National Speaker's Association, and stories about her entrepreneurial journey have appeared in the Long Island Press, Newsday, and Associated Press, to name a few.
