Rebecca Carpenter

Communications Specialist

World Council of Credit Unions

Rebecca is a proud Wisconsin native on a mission to simplify the complex. With degrees in journalism, Spanish and global cultures from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she landed a job—only two days after graduating—that allows her to utilize a blend of her voice, language and multicultural focus as Marketing and Communications Specialist at the World Council of Credit Unions. Rebecca manages World Council’s corporate communications and is the co-author of “International Lessons for Young Adult Membership Growth.” She also produces World Council’s news releases and electronic newsletter to keep the global credit union community in the loop, and spearheads annual planning, branding and promotion for International Credit Union Day every October. Rebecca loves learning about other cultures, especially when she gets to experience them firsthand. Her favorite part about her job is traveling internationally to record minutes for board meetings, visiting credit unions around the world and meeting new people along the way. So far, she’s been to credit unions in Jamaica, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Belgium and Australia. Rebecca (finally) got her first car at age 25 and lives with her boyfriend Jabari and kitten Ziggy in Madison, Wisconsin. She appreciates cheese, good commercials, live music, a good bargain, trying new things and sharing stories with people worldwide.
