Since 2002, Marshéle Carter Waddell has served as founder and president of Hope for the Home Front, a non-profit 501c3 corporation. Hope for the Home Front is dedicated to reaching and restoring women whose lives are forever changed by the aftermath of war. The organization and its resources were inspired at the outset of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan by her first two books, Hope for the Home Front: Winning the Emotional and Spiritual Battles of a Military Wife and the Hope for the Home Front Bible Study. Marshéle, alongside her former husband of 30 years, CDR (ret) Mark Waddell, a career U.S. Navy SEAL, with their three children, experienced many lengthy separations and frequent deployments for combat duty, special operations training and real world conflicts for more than two decades.
