Tavis Smiley
Tavis Smiley is an American talk show host, political commentator, and philanthropist. In 1996, Smiley began producing BET Tonight. He is currently the host of the late-night television talk show Tavis Smiley on PBS, as well as The Tavis Smiley Show from Public Radio International (PRI). From 2010 to 2013, Smiley and Cornel West joined forces to host their own radio talk show, Smiley & West. Smiley founded the founded the Tavis Smiley Foundation in 1999, which funds programs that develop young leaders in the community. Smiley was named one of “Time’s 100 Most Influential People in The World”, in 2009. In addition to his radio and television work, Smiley has authored fourteen books.
