Stephanie Johnson

Stephanie Anne Johnson is a second-generation theater practitioner. She has been a lighting designer working locally, nationally, and internationally for over forty years. She is also a visual artist who has had two one-person shows in San Francisco. Dr. Johnson is a founding faculty member at California State University, Monterey Bay in the Visual and Public Art Department. As an educator she has taught courses in art history, studio art, and service learning. She holds degrees in Theater (B.F.A. - Emerson College, Boston), Interdisciplinary Studies (M.A. – S.F. State University), Art (M.F.A. - University of California, Berkeley) and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Public Policy (Union Institute & University, Cincinnati). Her play Every Twenty One Days: Cancer, Yoga, and Me has been performed in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Berkeley. Her new play Mrs Reiff and the Counterfeit Shop will be performed at the Jewish Community Center in Berkeley on January.
