Tom Daschle
Thomas "Tom" Daschle is the former U.S. Senator from South Dakota who served as both the Minority and Majority Leader for the Democratic Party. Daschle is one of the longest serving Senate Democratic leaders in history, and the only to serve twice as both Majority and Minority Leader. After leaving the Senate in 2005, Daschle joined Alston & Bird LLP as a special policy advisor. He is currently working for The Daschle Group, a Public Policy Advisory of Baker Donelson, a large law firm and lobbying group, as well as the Chair of the Center for American Progress Board of Directors. Daschle recently partnered with Republican Trent Lott to release their new book, Crisis Point: Why We Must - and How We Can - Overcome Our Broken Politics in Washington and Across America.
