Tom Hill founding chairman of the Institute of Human Origins in 1981 and a co-founder of The Trust for African Rock Art in 1996, Tom chose in 2000 to devote himself fulltime to philanthropic and non-profit endeavors and moved to rural Kenya, where he co-founded and served as a trustee of the Maasailand Preservation Trust, the mission of which is to stabilize and sustain the Amboseli-Tsavo ecosystem at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. MPT consolidated operations with BigLife Foundation, serving as Board director and treasurer. Tom was a New York City-based entrepreneur with an MBA in Finance and co-founded the first interactive communications medium, Shoppers Voice, Inc. in 1968. Tom has as a written and produced works with Prince Charles, Nelson Mandela, and UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, and two award-winning lion conservation films, “We Don’t Kill Lions Anymore” and “There Will Always Be Lions?” CBS 2009 “60 Minutes, and National Geographic Wild special, “Lion Warriors”.
