Jim Garrison

Jim Garrison is Chairman/President of the State of the World Forum, a San Francisco-based non-profit developing a global network of leaders dedicated to a sustainable civilization. With President Gorbachev as Convening Chairman, the Forum hosts conferences, creates strategic initiatives, and has catalyzed the creation of independent organizations. Jim also founded Radiation and Health Information Service in 1978, East West Reach in 1980, and the International Foreign Policy Institute (with Eduard Shevardnadze) in 1991. He was Executive Director of the Esalen Institute Soviet American Exchange Program, 1985–1990. He founded and served as President of the Gorbachev Foundation/USA in 1992, which set the stage for launching the State of the World Forum in 1995. In 2005, he also became President and Chairman of Wisdom University, an international graduate school specializing in world wisdom traditions. Jim holds a PhD in Philosophical Theology from Cambridge University.
