"Sometimes you need to walk with death to know why you're alive." For Richard, founder and rhythm guitarist of Division Within, a rock/melodic metal group from Phoenix, walking with death was a lifelong experience. Born with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic lung disease that leads to life-threatening lung infections, music was the impetus for his life. In 2008 he and Brian "Monster" Elam formed Division Within with a simple concept: Heavy music, Heavy emotion. "The industry is filled with talented musicians and the only way to stand out is be true to yourself. The music is who we are." Their concept was immediately met with local success as they quickly garnered fans and began to open for national bands. This 5-piece features guitarist Richard Zandlo, Brian "Monster" Elam on drums, Michael Logan on vocals, lead guitarist Tommy Wray, and bassist Adam Fay.
