Stan Hilkey

Sheriff Stan Hilkey - Mesa County, CO. Sheriff Hilkey is a 25 year veteran of the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, 20 years of that time in leadership roles. Sheriff Hilkey has been serving the citizens of Mesa County as their Sheriff since his election in 2003. The full-service Sheriff’s Office has 230 employees serving a county population of approximately 140,000 residents and covering a geographical area of over 3,300 square miles. Sheriff Hilkey is a 2004 graduate of the FBI Academy. He is active in multiple boards and associations that include: County Sheriff’s of Colorado Board, Colorado Peace Officers Standards and Training Board, State of Colorado Methamphetamine Task Force, Mesa County Meth Task Force Board, and is the Chairman of the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Board. He is a progressive thinker and works hard to find creative ways to keep the community safe and find resources that may be under utilized to support the mission he was elected to do.
