Katie Beers

Twenty years after she was kidnapped, forced into a damp, dark underground hole – 2 feet wide, 7 feet long and 3 feet high – and often held in chains, Katie Beers is speaking out at last about the hellish circumstances she survived. Beers's case made headlines in in 1993 when her abductor, building contractor John Esposito, confessed and led police to the crude underground bunker, hidden by a 200-lb. concrete wall, he'd dug underneath his Long Island home. Now living in rural Pennsylvania, married and the mother of two toddlers, Beers realizes she will never have "full closure" on what happened to her, but she hopes her story will help others who've suffered abuse. Are you graduating from college this month without a job? About 50% of the “successful” recent grads that our guest David DeLong studied for his new book : "Graduate to a Great Job" didn’t know what they wanted to do for work when they got their diploma. So stop beating yourself up if you don’t know yet. It’s time to take action. Maybe you have no clue yet about what kind of job you want. Or you may have some strong ideas but limited knowledge of the actual job market in those areas. Wherever you are, David DeLong has some helpful suggestions for all graduates and their parents.

My name is Dr. Sithembile Stem Mahlatini, a compassionate and result oriented personal and organizational development Professional Speaker with a vision since 2007. I am a messenger and champion of Hope, better known as the Voice of Hope. I am the President and Founder of Global Counseling & Coaching Services, Inc. and Founder of Women and Youth Empowerment Seminars. I hold a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts, a Master of Social Work, MSW degree and Ed. D degree in Organizational Leadership.

I am originally from Harare Zimbabwe in Africa. I have been a resident of the USA for 26 years. After obtaining my degrees, I was licensed as a Psychotherapist and became certified as a professional speaker, author, career and life coach. My work is primarily with adolescents and families. I have conducted extensive adolescents work with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, and in my private practice. My work has also included extensive grief work, crisis stabilization and employee assistance (EAP).

I am certified as a speaker, trainer, and coach through both the John C. Maxwell Team and the Susan Jeffers “Feel the Fear and Do it anyway” team. My goal is to empower, educate, and engage others so that they believe and achieve more in life than they ever thought possible. I have authored four books, including my memoir “Beyond the Tears-A story of Hope and Encouragement, and co-authored seven books with the Professional Woman Network.
