There are an estimated 14.5 million cancer survivors in the United States. By the year 2024, that number is expected to increase to about 19 million survivors, while the medical costs of cancer are projected to increase 39 percent by the year 2020. To help provide quality cancer care for these 19 million survivors, while also reining in the cost of care, the value of care patients receive must be considered.
