Green Today
w/ host(s) Nelson Martinez

Now Playing:Think New Jersey is for the Birds?

[Bookmark] Some say New Jersey is for the birds…they’re right! As part of the migratory corridor for diverse population of birds, New Jersey is a key location for spotting native species and “guests”. In the trees? in the bushes? in the grasslands…where are the best places to spot the amazing variety of winged creatures that grace our skies? Green Today welcomes special guests Lillian Armstrong of New Jersey Audubon and Ken Rosenberg of Cornell Lab of Ornithology for a “pre-series” lineup of the who, what (and maybe where), they’re scouting in preparation for the World Series of Birding . As highly competitive teams from across the globe begin “flocking” to New Jersey for this annual event, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of the activity and the importance of observing, preserving and celebrating one of our national treasures. For more information on the World Series of Birding and to view the first ever State of the Birds report visit: www.njaudubon.org and www.stateofthebirds.org
