[Bookmark] Why do so many of us find it hard to describe ourselves as creative? In our culture, we tend to assign that trait to just a few, those designated artists or scientists or performers whose job description fits our view of "creativity". But all of us are creative every day, whether we name it that or not. People make beautiful environments or stimulate others' learning or prepare nutritious meals, solve problems that arise, take care of others in loving ways when resources of time and energy are few. It is our nature to be creative. When this creativity is focused in a particular way, such as painting or inventing, there is a different level of engagement in physical, mental, emotional and spiritual ways. The movement from one type of creativity to another is based on a number of factors, but starts with a decision. With a passion for words and images, dreams and journeys, Carol is a storyteller who creates safe spaces for others to narrate the stories of their lives. Educated at Rice University and The University of Texas at Austin, Carol has practiced the art and science of psychology for over thirty years.
