[Bookmark] IndyCar-turned-NASCAR driver AJ Allmendinger will be the Newsmaker of the Week guest on the October 28 edition of The Race Reporters. Plus: ESPN2 NHRA anchor Paul Page will preview the last two races of the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, Las Vegas and Pomona. Allmendinger is in his third Sprint Cup season and finished third in the Daytona 500. He drives for stock car legend Richard Petty’s team. Before his move into NASCAR, Allmendinger was the 2002 Barber Dodge Pro Series champion, 2003 Atlantic Series titlist, and 2004 Champ Car Rookie of the Year. In 2006, he won five Champ Car races. Host Michael Knight will be joined for the media roundtable by Dave Kallmann, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; and ESPN the Magazine and ESPN.com contributor Lewis Franck.
Michael Knight has been a motorsports industry insider for almost 40 years.
He graduated from Temple University (1975) in 2 ½ years with journalism school Dean’s List honors and already was on the Philadelphia Daily News staff.
A sportswriter, assistant sports editor, assistant news editor and special projects editor, he won the Frank Blunk Memorial Award (1979). He was American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association eastern VP and a Baseball and Pro Hockey Writers association member.

The Race Reporters lets fans know what goes on behind closed garage doors, and how major decisions are made, because host Michael Knight has been there.
The Race Reporters is a good, hard, honest, Constitutionally-protected conversation about the issues of the day. Each week, Knight brings together a panel of respected journalists -- people who know the “real story.” Together, they interview racing’s top stars and most important decision-makers on the Newsmaker of the Week segment.
