[Bookmark] Phil Shinnick is a very different professional in so many ways and will probably be the only person on the show who has held a world Olympic record. In 1963, he was an Olympic athlete and world record holder in the long jump. Today, he’s a champion of a different sort, helping athletes reach their peak performance using such techniques as biofeedback, yoga and Qi Gong. “One of the things which got me into medicine was the heavy drugging in Olympic and high level sport and trying to develop a way to have high performances without drugs by other means. I believe this has been accomplished.” Listeners will get his unique view of meditation; motion; connections; walking and running; and his Chinese connection—organizing a 1976 health and sport tour there.
